The paintings is in generally fair condition; minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is relined; the canvas is bubbling up along the upper and left edges; an small spot of lifting paint in the extreme upper left corner edge; instances of craquelure in scattered areas, with more prominent craquelure in the face of the left-most boy; significant inpainting throughout, visible under normal viewing conditions; scattered areas of overcleaning scattered. Under UV light: extensive inpainting throughout, with inpainting to the majority of the right-most boy's face, as well as large areas of inpainting to the faces, figures, and hands of the other two figures.
