The work with a vertical split to panel running from top to bottom and bisecting sitter's face between nose and left eye; restoration visible on back. Panel is further supported by two support ribs and an outer 3/4-inch border around original panel. Examination under UV light shows overpainting along the panel split and some scattered overpainting along the outer edges on sitter's head. The left side of panel with heavier overpainting.
