Lot Note:
The present lot relates to Dunand's monumental 18-panel incised gold lacquer mural, created for the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques Appliqués à la Vie Moderne in Paris in 1937. Other smaller versions were also produced after 1937.
Framed: 29 x 37 1/4 in.
Not examined out of frame; moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; rubbing and bumps scattered along all edges; a few minor scattered abrasions in areas, with a deeper, diagonal scratch in the center left, approximately 7 inches in length; a few instances of pinpoint losses to the gouache; condition commensurate with age and original purpose.
