7 1/4 x 5 1/4 in. albumen photograph on 11 x 14 in. Hayden Survey mount with credit at lower left to W.H. Jackson. A studio view of Yankton Dakota Indian Long Fox, or Ta-Tan-Ka-Han-Ska, originally taken by Alexander Gardner in 1872.
William Henry Jackson printed the series, but he did not make most of the portraits included. These deluxe prints were distributed to members of Congress, whose assistance with increased appropriations for his department F.V. Hayden wished to solicit.
