Walesse Ting was a Chinese-American visual artist who began his artistic career in the 1950s after moving to Paris. There, he made the acquaintance of members of the CoBrA artists' group. who inspired him to move to the United States in 1957. In addition to visual art, Ting became notable for his poetry and was a regular collaborator with Allen Ginsberg and Gary Snyder.
