The unlined canvas is in generally good condition. Canvas is slightly loose with slight undulations. Craquelures throughout the work with minor associated losses, most notable at bottom of canvas. Spots of soiling to canvas, notable at center right above figure's head as well as at right on figure's robes and on right side barrel. Evidence of cosmetic repair under UV at right next to barrel, with a corresponding patch measuring approx. 2 1/2 inches square on the reverse. A heavy green varnish under UV inhibits thorough reading. Additional images available upon request.
