likely refinished, but the underside of top exhibiting nice dark oxidation indicative of age; the hinges appear to be original and set in their original locations, one hinge missing a single screw; the frame is pegged, and pegged or doweled into the underside of top, and additionally with screw reinforcements to top; the underside of stretchers and interior of each leg are incised with Roman numerals, each aligning to one another: "I", "II", "III", "IIII", "V", "VI", and "X"; the flys swing easily, each displaying some occasional dark stains and a few minor shrinkage cracks commensurate with age- the underside of top has an extra drilled hole on each side for the fly to be inserted; the top surface with some nice figuring, also exhibiting some typical signs of wear including some old water rings, some minor occasional dark stains, and a few minor shrinkage cracks along edge; the underside of feet each shows evidence of turning on a lathe
