In overall fair to poor condition, the canvas appears to not be lined, but it does have a tack edge lining. At lower center right and extending from part of left most figure into part of background and a small amount of second to left most figure. There is an area of paint loss with missing chips of paint and visible active flaking. Areas of the canvas exhibit fine matrixes of craquelure consistent with age. There are areas of the painting that show restoration and retouch throughout, including, but not limited to the building at far left; small areas of the sky at far right; an area of the beam supporting building; the beard and mustache and hair of the figure at far left; the cloak of the figure at far left; part of the arm of the figure it far left; parts of the elderly man second to far left; part of the arms and clothing of the praying woman; the hair of the figure at center; and restoration in areas of the foreground at left. Additional images available upon request.
