Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is not lined and exhibits moderate buckling under raking light; stretcher bar marks around image perimeter; three small paint losses along the upper left edge; one scratch in the lower right corner; one horizontal scratch in the lower center, above the two men; two small scratches in the lower left corner; pinpoint white paint droplets in the lower right corner; one light brown stain in the lower center; under a significantly discolored, unevenly applied varnish. Under UV light: unevenly applied varnish fluoresces, particularly along the edges; otherwise the thick varnish obscures any apparent inpainting. Additional images available upon request.

Under UV light: four small areas of inpainting in the upper right of the sky; a possible line of inpainting extending through the crowd of people in the lower left corner; unevenly applied varnish fluoresces, particularly along the edges; otherwise the thick varnish obscures any additional apparent inpainting.
