Overall the items remain in Good to Very Good condition. Belt is very good with moderate wear, staining and age discoloration, but complete and supple enough for use and display on a mannequin. Belt frog in similarly very good condition with some moderate wear, fading and discoloration noted and the stitching mostly tight and intact. The revolver frog is good to very good with much of the finish intact, the markings partially legible and the original closure strap intact. Strap is worn and stretched. The frog's closure seam appears to show most of the thread, but apparently it all failed long ago and the seam was closed with leather glue that has degraded over time and has allowed the seam to open up. It could be easily glued closed again for display purposes. The cartridge box is in about good condition with moderate wear and flaked loss. The pouch remains functional with some of the leather a little stiff and the tin magazine insert showing some surface rust. The primer pouch is in similar condition with moderate wear and crazing but remaining functional.
The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind as to a lot's condition. Any reference to condition in a catalogue description or a condition report shall not amount to a full accounting of condition. Condition reports prepared by Freeman's staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the Department prior to bidding.
The absence of a posted condition report on the Freeman's website or in our catalogues should not be interpreted as commentary on an item's condition. Prospective buyers are responsible for inspecting a lot or sending their agent or conservator to inspect the lot on their behalf, and for ensuring that they have requested, received and understood any condition report provided by Freeman's.
