The sitter was the daughter of the Hon. John Beresford, son of Marcus, Earl of Tyrone. She married Hanry Theophilus Clements, M.P., in 1778.
Framed: 40 x 34 inches.
The relined canvas is in generally good condition. Craquelure and light soiling present throughout the work. Apparent drops of soiling present at left side with apparent associated losses. Under UV evidence of cosmetic retouching present throughout, notable in areas of craquelure. A fluorescent green varnish present throughout inhibits a thorough reading.
