The canvas is lined. There is a vertical superficial scratch at center right, behind the girl, circa 13 inches long, as well as one short vertical scratch in the lower right corner. Minor scattered craquelures throughout, with one craquelure accompanied by a pinpoint paint loss in the center right edge. Instances of wear and abrasions along the extreme edges from the frame. Areas of inpainting visible under raking light in scattered areas, most noticeable within the inner left arm and pants of the boy, as well as along the edges. The varnish is dark and dull. Under UV light: an area of inpainting on the boy's forehead and some touch-ups around the girl's eyes that are faintly visible, as well as dots within their clothing and small areas within the dog and background. Other inpainting is no longer fluorescing and cannot be detected. Additional images available upon request.
