Albumen photograph, 6.75 x 8.25 in., on decorative 9 x 11 in. mount with printed information on verso, including credit to the photographers, Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner, as well as the publishers, Taylor & Huntington. A full list of other photos available for purchase from the Civil War series is also printed on verso. Illustrated in Katz' Custer in Photographs (K-53), this photograph of General Philip Sheridan along with Forsyth, Merritt, Devin, Custer, and staff was taken on January 3, 1865, by Mathew Brady & Co.
