Lot of 10 stereoviews, including four "War Views" published by E. & H.T. Anthony during or soon after the Civil War and two views from the "The War for the Union, Photographic War History" series, published in the last quarter of the nineteenth century by Taylor & Huntington from war-date negatives.
Views include "No. 2310 / Loading a Big Gun, Fort Corcoran, Va."; "No. 2410 / Camp 31st Pennsylvania Regt., Queen's Farm; Fort Slocum in the distance"; "Fifteen-inch Gun in Battery Rodgers, on the Potomac"; "Magazine in Battery Rodgers, on the Potomac"; and two scenes of the Grand Review of the "Great Veteran Armies of Grant and Sherman at Washington, / on the 23d and 24th May, 1865," including "No. 3390 / The Army of the Potomac. The Stand in front of the President's House occupied / by the President and Cabinet, Grant and Sherman, and Reviewing Officers" and "No. 3392 / The Army of the Potomac. / Looking up Pennsylvania Avenue from the Treasury / Buildings. Maj. Gen. Wright and Staff, and 6th Army Corps passing in review."
