A rare early prototype of Knorr's “132 U” design, the present lot is composed of salvage materials that were worked into a then-new design. An older coat of green paint is visible under the black paint, and both paint layers have been scorched at the welded seat joint. The roughness of the edges makes it clear that the present lot was formed by hand, from materials on hand, well before the production process.
