The woman portrayed in the present work is Henrietta Mayer, a professional model whom Sloan had painted several times in the preceding two years, starting in 1912 with Henrietta Mayer, Yellow Evening Gown, Coral Necklace (Private Collection).

The relined canvas in overall good condition, with a slight glossy finish. Examination under UV light does not reveal any sign of inapaining save for two pinpoint dots at upper left along the top outer edge of the work (likely minuscule inpainted flakes).
