The relined canvas in overall good condition. With hairline craquelure at top and bottom. While the bottom part is stabilized for the most part, we see active flaking at upper center (in the smoke) as well as at upper right along the top outer edge, and at upper left. With abrasions along the top outer edge in general too. Examination under UV light reveals scattered areas of inpainting at upper center in the cloud as well at upper right along the top outer edge of the canvas. Judging from their shape and pattern, such areas appear to be old inpainted flakes, which is consistent with the aforementioned craquelure issue. See Specialist's pictures for more details.
