Dr. Zehner's diary excerpt from April 12, 1950: "Then we drove to Charlie Looking Back's cabin. He is 78 years old. He is a real gentlemanly fellow who can understand but can't speak English. From him I bought the following: A neat bow with sinew string that really works yet and eight sinew-wrapped metal tipped arrows. He made them in 1918. He used them to hunt and in 1918 used it to kill a buffalo. The bow has a curve in each limb, is flat and is about 4ft., 2 in. long. The arrows are about 25 inches long."
