Rectangular top with reeded edge above cylinder top opening to a fitted interior with bird's-eye maple drawer fronts, above diagonally reeded molding and graduated drawers with turned pulls, flanked by reeded chevroned stiles, on French bracket feet.
H: 48 in. W: 48 3/4 in. D: 25 in.In 1813 George Hendree and Chester Sully, brother of painter Thomas Sully, announced the opening of their cabinet shop in Richmond, Virginia. Hendree was working independently in Richmond by 1815. A mahogany cylinder desk by Hendree was included in the 1952 exhibit of Southern Furniture, 1640-1820, at the Virginia Museum in Richmond and illustrated Magazine Antiques January 1952, pg. 77, fig. 93.
