Dr. Zehner acquired these pounders at Fort Yates and Cannon Ball in 1950 from a number of people including: Margaret Hawk Bear, Lillian Fast Horse of Cannon Ball and Nellie Crow Necklace, Mary Iron Shield, Mr. Blair, Fanny Loans Arrow, Lawrence Magpie Eagle, John Bob Tiger, and Kathryn Left Hand of Fort Yates.
