Each with shells arranged in concentric pattern ornamented with ribbons and small mirrors, the edges hung with beads and cowrie shells, on a muslin ground.

According to his diary, Dr. Zehner purchased both capes on December 12, 1949. The cape with tag 33 came from Nellie Chasing Bear and cape with tag 34, from Rose Kills Spotted of Fort Yates, North Dakota.
