Japanese Katana Signed "Tanemitsu" with Daruma Kashira

26" nagasa. 40.5" with tsuka and saya. Shinogi-zukuri style katana with a single hole nakago with mei that appears to read "Tanemitsu August 1862." Blade has mosame hada, gunome midare hamon, o-kissaki, ihori mune, and yakizume boshi. Item is mounted with black ito, white same, copper Daruma kashira, copper fuchi that appears to show a flame. Seppa and habaki are also copper. Tsuba is iron with two slots for kozuka and kogai, and chiseled scenes of junks with mountains and cherry trees to both sides. Saya is black same with a single kurikata and black sageo. Included with item is a red and gold embroided silk carry bag.

Very good. Blade has good polish, with some scattered grain openings to both sides. Saya and tsuka are in good condition. Tsuka to nakago fit has some wiggle to it.
