Hindman New York Launches Pop-Up Gallery

NEW YORK – Hindman announces its first series of New York exhibitions and events at the High Line Nine Galleries, in advance of the firm launching a permanent location. The national fine art auction house will preview highlights from major collections this spring, across Post-War & Contemporary Art, European Art, Asian Art, Jewelry & Watches, and more at the Chelsea gallery.

“We are excited to open our doors for the first time since establishing a New York presence in the historic arts district of Chelsea” commented Gemma Sudlow, Hindman Managing Director, New York Region. “The extraordinary estate of Susann Craig, a passionate outsider art collector and a founder of Chicago’s Intuit Art Center connects beautifully with New York’s annual Outsider Art Fair. We are also delighted to be previewing highlights from significant Asian Art collections during Asia Week, and spotlighting our Important Jewelry auction in April.”

The pop-up will mark Hindman’s first major series of exhibitions in New York, and follows the recent announcement of Hindman expanding into Manhattan, with the firm to launch a full-service saleroom.

The firm’s entrance into the New York market highlights its commitment to fulfilling growing demand within the tristate area. The new Manhattan location will include a full-service auction room – Hindman’s fifth overall – creating another major sales hub for the company to supplement its Chicago, Palm Beach, Denver, and Cincinnati salerooms. With the recent addition of new offices in Boston and Miami, plus a new auction room and exhibition space planned for Manhattan, Hindman is now present in 16 cities across the country focused on the mainstay of the auction market: core collectible property at a range of estimates.
