Freeman’s Reports Strong Q1 2026 Luxury Results, Led by Exceptional Jewelry and Designer Highlights

Freeman’s reports strong first-quarter results for its luxury categories in 2026, reflecting continued market confidence and the firm’s momentum from 2025.

 

Sell-through rate climbed to 92.26% in Q1 2026, up from 89.74% in the same period last year. Total sales (including BP) reached $4,819,500, up 14% year over year. Furthermore, the percentage of lots achieving or exceeding their low estimate increased to 74.20% (from 72.75% in 2025).

The quarter saw standout results across jewelry, watches, and luxury accessories, with active participation from private collectors. Leading results included a Tiffany & Co. 5-carat diamond ring, which achieved $140,800, and a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and platinum flower brooch, which realized $83,200. A colored diamond and yellow gold ring also brought $83,200, while a Cartier Art Deco citrine and diamond ring achieved $60,800. “These results reflect the continued strength and resilience of the luxury market,” said April Matteini, SVP | Head of Department, Jewelry. “We are especially encouraged by the depth of bidding across categories and the sustained demand for signed pieces by premier houses such as Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Bulgari.”

Notable results continued with a Verger Frères for Lacloche Frères Art Deco lapel watch ($51,200) and a Colombian emerald and diamond ring ($51,200), alongside a natural fancy brownish yellow pear-shaped diamond ring ($48,000). A Georges L’Enfant for Van Cleef & Arpels textured gold chain necklace and a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and gold clutch each realized $44,800, while Van Cleef & Arpels ‘Cosmos’ flower earrings achieved $41,600.
