Marc Peterman, Vice President, Director of Finance

Daisy Edelson joins Freeman’s with more than 30 years of experience at the forefront of the international auction and art world. She began her career at Sotheby’s in 1989 in the Rugs and Carpets department and went on to hold senior roles across Catalogue Production and Trusts, Estates, and Appraisals before joining the Impressionist & Modern Art department in 2005.

Over the course of her career at Sotheby’s, Edelson held multiple leadership positions overseeing operations, administration, and strategy, including serving as Senior Vice President, Senior Business Director within the Impressionist & Modern Art department in New York, and later as Senior Vice President, General Manager across all Fine Art categories in North America.

During her tenure, Edelson worked on numerous high-profile and historically significant projects, including the estates of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the collections of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and oversaw the appraisal and sales of the Estate of Betsey Cushing Whitney, which included the first painting to reach over $100 million at auction, Picasso’s Boywith Pipe. She also directed the logistics, marketing, and promotion of the sale of Edvard Munch’s The Scream in 2012 and Claude Monet’s Meules in 2019, both of which achieved auction records for the artists.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in the industry to support the Fine Art team as it continues to grow and evolve,” said Edelson. “Freeman’s has an extraordinary legacy, and I look forward to building on the infrastructure that allows us to better serve our clients and strengthen the business.”

Marc Peterman joins Freeman’s with nearly 30 years of experience in financial leadership, bringing deep expertise in strategic planning, operational finance, and organizational management. As Vice President, Director of Finance, Peterman will oversee the firm’s financial operations, strengthening financial systems, reporting, and internal controls in support of Freeman’s ongoing development.

Most recently, Peterman served as Chief Financial Officer of EJZ Real Estate Consulting, where he led financial strategy, implemented new financial systems, and improved operational efficiencies across the organization. Throughout his career, he has partnered closely with executive teams to support organizational growth through disciplined financial planning and clear reporting.

“Freeman’s combines a remarkable history with a clear vision for the future,” said Peterman. “I look forward to supporting the firm’s continued expansion with strong financial foundations that ensure stability, transparency, and long-term success.”

Together, these appointments underscore Freeman’s commitment to experienced leadership as the firm continues to grow its presence in the market while serving collectors, consignors, and institutions worldwide.
