Freeman’s Announces Important Jewelry Sale in New York on December 11, 2025, Featuring Exceptional Diamonds and The Dayle Haddon Collection
Freeman’s is proud to present its final Important Jewelry sale of 2025, a live auction on December 11 at its Upper East Side gallery in New York City. The end-of-year sale offers an exceptional selection of jewels, including superb diamonds, rare Burmese sapphires, vivid Colombian emeralds, and extraordinary designs by Graff, Bulgari, JAR, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
A major highlight is The Dayle Haddon Collection, a remarkable assembly of elegant, iconic, and deeply personal pieces from the international model, actress, activist, and author. Spanning decades of Haddon's life and career, the collection reflects her refined aesthetic and global influence, making it one of the most compelling offerings of the season.
The sale also features property from Chicago civic leader Maureen Dwyer Smith, the Estate of Mrs. Joan Kanof, and several other distinguished private collections, providing collectors with a wide range of opportunities across periods, makers, and styles.
“We are thrilled to be ending 2025 with such an exciting offering in our Important Jewelry auction,” says April Matteini, Senior Vice President and Head of Jewelry. “The sale truly has pieces for every collector, from impressive Graff diamonds to extraordinary works by Bulgari and Cartier. Additionally, the sale includes a collection being sold for the benefit of Shriners Children’s.”
Ageless Beauty: Jewelry from The Dayle Haddon Collection
A highlight of the auction, The Dayle Haddon Collection presents a deeply personal selection of jewels that reflect the international model and humanitarian’s refined, modern aesthetic. Among the standout pieces are Van Cleef & Arpels’ platinum Diamond “Snowflake” Earrings (Lot 22, Estimate: $30,000–50,000), a shimmering openwork design set with diamonds that epitomize the Maison’s technical precision and poetic craftsmanship.
Two exceptional creations by Boucheron further illuminate Haddon’s sophisticated taste: a pair of Diamond and Yellow Gold Earrings (Lot 23, Estimate: $7,000–9,000) defined by an elegant swirling silhouette and transitional-cut diamonds, and a bold Bicolor Gold, Rock Crystal, and Emerald Cuff Bracelet (Lot 24, Estimate: $5,000–7,000) that pairs carved rock crystal with cabochon emerald finials, an homage to the Maison’s long-standing mastery of unconventional materials. Together, these pieces offer a rare glimpse into Haddon's enduring eye for beauty and design.
Important Diamonds Take Center Stage
The sales top lots include a stunning 13 Carat Oval Brilliant Cut Diamond Ring by Graff (Lot 128, Estimate: $250,000 - 350,000), 17 (Lot 131, Estimate: $150,000 - 200,000) and 12 (Lot 142, Estimate: $100,000 - 150,000) Carat Round Brilliant Cut Diamond Rings, and two additional rings of extraordinary size being sold to benefit charity.
Extraordinary Gemstones Come to Auction
Other standouts of Freeman’s December 11 Important Jewelry sale are two exceptional pieces from private collectors that showcase both artistry and extraordinary gemstones. A stunning Cartier Art Deco Giardinetto Brooch (Lot 116, Estimate: $20,000 - 30,000) captures the imagination with a basket-of-flowers design featuring a black opal, an exquisite example of Cartier’s playful yet refined craftsmanship. Equally impressive, a Burmese Ruby and Diamond Ring (Lot 122, Estimate: $30,000 - 50,000) features a 2.00 carat cushion-cut ruby with no evidence of heat treatment, representing the finest in colored gemstone jewelry. Both lots exemplify the caliber of rare and collectible jewels offered in this season-ending sale.
Freeman’s looks forward to welcoming collectors, jewelry connoisseurs, and admirers to preview and bid on this exceptional sale in New York. With superb craftsmanship, notable provenance, and highly desirable stones and designers, Important Jewelry promises to be a standout event in the winter auction season.
