Genealogical records identify Ann Taylor Gilman Emery (1781–1848) as the daughter of John Taylor Gilman (1753–1828), one of the Minutemen of 1775 and the fifth Governor of New Hampshire. She married Nicholas Emery (1776–1861), Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, in 1807.
