A Red Ground Embroidered Silk Lady's Jacket and Pants
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912)
清 紅地八寶暗花鑲云肩女衫褲一套
the wide jacket constructed of a red damask woven with a pattern of scrolling clouds, having large open sleeves terminating in cream satin cuffs. The high neck finished with an elaborate cream ground octafoil cloud collar embroidered with ladies in verdant landscapes borders in green and red ribbon, with en suite borders at the side closure, vents, and hem, finished gilt toggle buttons. The pants worked of the same red ground and having a wide waist band.
