A Bronze 'Garlic Head' Vessel, Bianhu 
HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-220 AD)

漢 青銅蒜頭扁壺
the body of compressed flask form set over a slightly splayed foot, and rising to a stout neck supporting a mouth in the form of lobed bulb of garlic. The smooth broad sides incised with shallow arching recessed panels flanking narrow sides mounted at each shoulder with well-molded taotie masks above vertical band rings.
