A Gilt Wood Figure of Buddha Shakyamuni and A Gilt Metal Mounted Black Lacquered Wood Traveling Shrine
18TH/19TH CENTURY
the rounded rectangular shaped shrine mounted with gilt metal vine-shaped decoration, opening to show the Buddha Shakyamuni seated in dhyanasana, supported on a lotus plinth, further on stepped throne, backed by a reticulated mandala.
Height of shrine 4 1/4 in., 10.8 cm.
