Lot Description

Hiram Lynn, Company F, 3rd Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, KIA Lovejoy Station, Georgia, presentation Remington-Beals Navy revolver and holster. 


.36 caliber Navy revolver in complete, untouched condition and absolutely correct in every detail. All matching serial numbers 6324. Deep aged color to metal and mellowed patina to walnut wood grips. Shows good honest field use with period replaced copper front sight and small chip to extreme tip of hammer spur. Revolver beautifully and authentically engraved around cylinder, “From / Hiram Lynn / Co. F, 3rd Regt. / Ohio Vet. Vol. Cav. / To / C. Hunter," by original russet leather holster with full flap cover.

Hiram Lynn mustered into Company F, 3rd Ohio Volunteer Cavalry on 11/11/1861. He was killed on 8/20/1864 at Lovejoy Station, Georgia.
