Stereoview No. 839 (light soiling; some corner and edge wear to mount, including minor surface abrasion to mount verso). Photo taken along the Central Pacific Route near Oroville. “Central Pacific Railroad. Thomas Houseworth & Co. Photographer, San Francisco, Cal.” printed on the front margins. Mautz pg. 111. The view shows men on skis pulling an enormous bear trap on a small sled. -- View across Fallen Leaf Lake, Valley of Lake Tahoe. Ca 1866. Stereoview No. 650 (light spotting; some corner and edge wear to mount). An image showing rides in and out of the lake at the shore. “Lake Tahoe” and publishing information printed on the front margins. With “Thomas Houseworth & Co. 317 & 319 Montgomery Street, San Francisco” and information about receiving a bronze medal at the Paris International Exhibition in 1867 printed on the verso.
