Lot Description
[GENERAL AMERICANA]. World's Columbian Exposition group of tickets and State of Louisiana $5 dollar bonds.
World's Columbian Exposition tickets include one general gate ticket ("Good Only on Day of Sale"); one Children's Special Ticket; one child's and one adult ticket for Chicago Day, 9 Oct. 1893; one ticket for Manhattan Day, 21 Oct. 1893; six tickets good for any day, 1 May to 30 Oct. 1893; plus one envelope for souvenir tickets held by the Caxton Co. (possibly the set of six tickets above). The six tickets each has a different profile on them: Abraham Lincoln; Benjamin Franklin; a Plains Indian chief (Sitting Bull?); George Washington; Handel; and Christopher Columbus (?).
Four $5 State of Louisiana Bond tickets on a single sheet, series 1874, Serial Nos. 57224-57227. All still have interest coupons for Aug. 1, 1884, Feb. 1, 1885, Aug. 1, 1885 and Feb. 1, 1886 attached. All others have been redeemed.
