CUSTER, George Armstrong (1839-1876). Endorsement signed ("G.A. Custer"), as Brevet Major General. Headquarters 2nd Cavalry Division, 16 November 1864.
Civil War-dated endorsement signed by Custer, with the following written in another hand, "Headquarters…Cav. Div., November 16th, 1864...Respectfully forwarded approved and recommended." Custer's rank is written in the same unknown hand.
