Lot Description

[CIVIL WAR]. JACOBS, Edward, photographer. CDV Captain George H. Cheney, 14th Maine Infantry, and photographer Edward Jacobs. New Orleans, LA: n.d.


2 1/16 x 3 7/16 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (image with light toning, strong clarity). Ink identification on mount recto reads, "Jacobs & Cheney." Verso with Jacobs' imprint. Captain Cheney sits in a chair and wears a GAR hat, while Jacobs stands to Cheney's right and rests his arm on Cheney's shoulder. Accompanied by page from album the photograph was previously housed in, featuring ink inscription along bottom reading, "Capt. Cheney & Jacobs."
