A Chinese Export Silvered Bronze Water Buffalo-Form Clock

銅鍍銀水牛鈡
having a tiered rectangular plinth cast with reticulated designs between scroll feet supporting the base section modeled in the form of the muscular beast of burden, rearing on three hoofed feet, with the front left foot raised beneath the head turned backward in the same direction. The drum supported on the buffalo's back within a border of modeled prunus springs, the dial worked with gilt Chinese chapters, the chased spandrels before a painted fretwork and scroll ground.

水牛作回首狀,卷草紋鞍配瓔珞,銀錶盤配金漢字刻度和雙針,有畫龍點睛的意味。
