Early 19th century
identified wrought by Miranda Brockaway in her 10th year 1814 / Finished by Jane Brockaway.
with floral border and verse at center.
16 1/2 x 17 1/4 inches.
Connecticut Church Record Abstracts document the 1805 baptism of a Miranda Brockaway in 1805 at the Ellington Congregational Church, where her father Diodate Brockaway (1776-1849) served as pastor. Miranda died in 1816, so her sister Jane (1814-1847) likely finished the sampler later.
