[ADVERTISING]. A group of 43 advertising pieces, including die-cut Valentines, catalogs, advertising cards, and more.
Miniature book, “The Story of Sunny Jim.” 2.25 x 3.5 in. What at first glance appears to be a juvenile book is indeed advertising for “Force” with examples of conditions treated by this patent medicine. “Jim Dumps had tried some time in vain, / To ease an after dinner pain /Which gnawed at him his belt below, / And filled his world with indigo. Dyspesia now can’t bother him / For FORCE” has made him Sunny Jim.”
Advertising booklet “Story of Esquire Brown and his Mule.” 3.75 x 4.75 in. Testimonials for r. Bull’s Cough Syrup, 24pp. Carpenter & Henderson, Druggists, Athens, Ohio.
Metal (tin?) sign with red pig on yellow background. “People Eat Peoples Meat.” Peoples Meat Packing Co., Cincinnati, Ohio (AKA “Porkoplis”) 9.5 x 13.75 in.
Die-cut Valentines include a 3-D ship (boy on boat); large 3-D house opening to approx.. 10 x 12 x 4 in.; another “boat” with an Orthodox priest blowing a trumpet, opens to 9 x 9.5 x 5 in. Plus nine die-cut and doily Valentines.
