A Watercolor Portrait of a Young Man
written in pencil on verso Lexington, KY / (illegible script) / England / N. Hart.
Image 7 3/8 x 5 1/2 inches.
We are unable to determine specifically if the sitter is Nathaniel G.S. Hart (1784-1813) or a later Hart family descendant. Though this individual cannot be definitively identified, the Hart name is associated with some of the earliest and most prominent Kentucky settlers.
