The Wells & Hope Company was established by John F. Hope and Joseph Lewis Wells in 1845 and was located in Philadelphia, PA. They produced various curved and flat embossed metal signs and became a favorite for brewery advertisements. Their clients included Yuengling, Anheuser-Busch, Narragansett, Queen City, Leinenkugel, and Hudepohl to name a few. Wells and Hope Co. was active until the early 1890s and eventually closed in 1907.
