Miniature Portrait of a French Military Officer, Frankfurt,(sic) Kentucky, 1820

signed Favre pnxt, lower right and further inscribed in French on the reverse, "Made in the city of Frankfort, KY in the United States of America, April 1, 1820 by a man named Favre Captain in the 4th French Hussars who was never willing to swear loyalty to Louis 18th."

Frame 6 1/4 x 4 7/8 inches.
