A Scrimshaw Corset Busk with Man and Woman
Mid 19th Century
cut from sperm whale panbone, illustrating a flowering plant, a female figure with ringlets flanked by spiral-pattern pillars, and surmounted with geometric devices and a male figure in sailor's clothing flanked by spiral-pattern pillars, surmounted by a gothic arch and geometric devices.
Length 13 3/4 inches.
