This lot include thee items by three separate designers. 
Oleg Cassini created bold, eye-catching fashions which garnered from coast to coast. He arrived in the United States from Europe in the late 1930s, the son of a Russian diplomat and an Italian countess. He began his career in American fashion designing film costumes for Twentieth Century Fox, and later for Jacqueline Kennedy thanks to his aptitude for dressing women for the camera.

Bringing non-Western influences into her designs, Tina Leser is credited with pioneering American sportswear for women from the 1940s through the 1980s. Elements of Japanese aesthetics can be seen in the cherry blossom print of this chiffon dress.

Academy award-winning designer Jean-Louis dressed the likes of Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, and Marilyn Monroe. Prior to his work for Hollywood stars, Jean-Louis designed the Carnegie suit in 1937 for Hattie Carnegie, one of the first fashions to gain popularity as an American name design.
