An Archaistic Bronze Vase, Fanghu
18TH/19TH CENTURY
清十八/十九世紀 銅夔龍蟬紋貫耳壺
heavily cast with rectangular section and undulating sides, the pear-shaped body rising from a short splayed foot to a waisted neck, flanked by a pair of lug-form handles, cast in low relief with a band of archaistic kui dragons against a leiwen ground, above archaistic pendent cicada blades and further kui dragons, the foot decorated with wave motif.
