8vo. Frontispiece map. (Lacking 16pp. publisher’s advertisements at end, a few leaves with light spotting). 19th-century half green calf, marbled boards, smooth spine gilt, edges red (spine darkened, some light rubbing or wear to extremities).
FIRST EDITION, published in the same year as the first American edition (see next lot). BAL 13655 (State C of signature “P” [no priority]).
