Lot Description
Collection of Six Embroidery Samples by Vermont, Paris, 1950-78s
Each of the embroidery samples are marked with a 'J. G. Vermont' or 'Vermont' paper label from the Paris, France. The first and fifth example have a paper label with the address '39 Rue de Paradis', while the remaining items all have the address of '39 Faubourg Poissonniere'.
The second example is made of black fabric embroidered with silver and red metallic thread and further embroidered with silver, pink and black sequins and beads in a 3D/raised design.
Tracing lines for the embroidery design can be seen on the fourth example.
The sixth example comes with two small spools of matching colored thread.
The examples are embroidered on net and woven fabric pieces from approximately 10" x 13" to 17" x 21".
These embroidery sample were discovered in the Geoffrey Beene Archive.
