LAURIE, Robert (1755-1836) and James WHITTLE (d.1818) The United States of America with the British Possessions of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland divided with the French, and the Spanish Territories of Louisiana and Florida according to the Preliminary Articles of Peace Signed at Versailles the 10th of Jany. 1783. London, 12 May 1794.


Engraved map of eastern North America hand-colored in wash and outline, visible area 20 x 22 in. (512 x 560 mm), matted and framed (not examined out of frame). Decorative cartouche. (Some light browning.) Article III of the Treaty of Paris, printed next to the cartouche, delineating the fishing rights retained by the United States in the Grand Banks, off the banks of Newfoundland and in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
