8vo. Title-page printed in red and black. Original red gilt-lettered cloth, top edge gilt (spine very slightly faded and leaned, very minor wear to spine ends, otherwise fresh and bright). Provenance: Frances Metcalfe Wolcott (1851-1933) American author (bookplate).
FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, with unbroken type in last line of p.135. An early copy: of the first edition of 6,000 copies, the first 2,500 received from the binder had the top edges gilt (as here)
