2 volumes, folio (389 x 275 mm). Original text window-mounted into Whatman Turkey Mill paper watermarked 1863 or later. EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED by the addition of 305 portraits and views, many window-mounted or mounted. (Some minor offsetting, a few tiny spots.) Contemporary black crushed levant gilt, spines in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands gilt, board edges and wide turn-ins gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut STAMP-SIGNED BY BRADSTREET (a few small scuffs).
Second edition, EXTRA ILLUSTRATED and extended to two volumes by the addition of numerous portraits and views, a few printed on india paper.
