Lot Description
Christian Dior by Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture Dress and Shoes, Spring-Summer 1958
Worn by Dame Olivia de Havilland
Sleeveless a-line dress of embroidered flowers in an antique white, layered with embroidered pink flowers with petals that curl. The dress has no visible seams or darts, with all shaping created through the pieceing together of the embroidred fabric. A majority of this dress was sewn by hand. The exterior of the dress is lined with two layers of silk tulle over an inner dress, which closes down the center back with a zip. The embroidered exterior closes down the center back with a series of small snaps. The matching shoes are made of a pale pink/cream satin and finished with a self-fabric rose over each toe.
